The book Soul Surfer is about a surfer named Bethany Hamilton that gets her arm bitten off by a shark while surfing. It is a very encouraging story about faith in God and courage to get back on the board. One memorable quote is: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."-Jeremiah 29:11
Nice!!! I watched the movie before... I like the incorporation of the bible verse!!! Cool.
ReplyDeleteThe movie was very inspirational and left you wishing for the main character. I really liked the connection to God and the Bible in the story.
ReplyDeleteI watched the movie as well, and I like how Audrey, you put a BIBLE verse in there. It truly is an insperational story of a mircle.
DeleteThat verse reminds me a lot of the sermon Pastor Matt preached bout on Sunday. How god had and has plans for you no matter what. With Lily and the lady.
DeleteI love the movie! I have never read the book, but the movie was great. Adding on to what Jason said, it did leave you inspired and wanting Bethany to live a great life. I have heard that verse before and it makes me stay strong in faith.
ReplyDeleteWish I could memorize verses just like that. Oh well. I still know a few.
ReplyDeleteLucky. I know one.
DeleteI remember about that story on the news( I think) and I though wow. I wonder if sharks really think were seals or dolphins.
ReplyDelete*thought*
DeleteA very inspirational quote from the Bible, indeed. You should put it on the Speedbumps blog! Was that a true story? Was the girl in the picture the real person?
ReplyDeleteIt is a true story and the girl on the cover was a real person but i still can't get to the Speedbumps blog.
ReplyDeleteFact: i was in Hawaii a few weeks later. Also i love that movie
ReplyDeleteI never read the book but it was a great, emotional, and inspiring movie.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I saw the movie too, it was great. I'll have to read the book.
DeleteWell, I haven't read the book, but judging from the movie, I can infer that it was a good read. I loved how they incorporated God in it and it really lifted my faith.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the book or read the movie, but I guise I was kind of shocked and freaked out. I didn't realize that it really related to the BIBLE that much and so thanks Audrey for the realization and lifter-upper about the book/ movie.
ReplyDeleteThis book is life changing. It makes me realize that I have nto endevered as much pain as I could and I should be greatful for that. I also am inspired to stand up when I am down.
ReplyDeleteI have e seen a little bit of the movie and so far I really suspect the book to be great. I remember watching a interview and she was in it. It was pretty life shocking how dangerous beauty can be.
ReplyDeleteI have seen the movie and the book is always better than the movie. It is amazing how she recovers from that injury.
