The book Soul Surfer is about a surfer named Bethany Hamilton that gets her arm bitten off by a shark while surfing.  It is a very encouraging story about faith in God and courage to get back on the board.  One memorable quote is: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."-Jeremiah 29:11

    2. That verse reminds me a lot of the sermon Pastor Matt preached bout on Sunday. How god had and has plans for you no matter what. With Lily and the lady.

  3. I love the movie! I have never read the book, but the movie was great. Adding on to what Jason said, it did leave you inspired and wanting Bethany to live a great life. I have heard that verse before and it makes me stay strong in faith.

  6. A very inspirational quote from the Bible, indeed. You should put it on the Speedbumps blog! Was that a true story? Was the girl in the picture the real person?

  11. I haven't read the book or read the movie, but I guise I was kind of shocked and freaked out. I didn't realize that it really related to the BIBLE that much and so thanks Audrey for the realization and lifter-upper about the book/ movie.
